Terms of Service

Bitfares is an online travel booking service. We let you search flights and hotels, show you a price in US dollars, and take payment in cryptocurrency. We act as a booking intermediary: the flight is operated by the airline and the room is provided by the hotel, and their own conditions (fare rules, contract of carriage, house rules) apply to your trip in addition to these terms.

For legal review: Insert the legal entity name, company registration number and registered address of the operator here, and confirm whether the service is offered as agent, merchant of record, or both.

Prices are quoted in US dollars. Every quote you see is signed by us and valid for a limited time. If a quote expires before you check out, you will be asked to search again — we never guess or reconstruct a price. The cryptocurrency amount you owe is fixed at checkout using the exchange rate at that moment, and stays fixed for the payment window shown on the payment page.

We support three ways to pay, depending on the coin you choose:

• Bitcoin is paid to our own self-hosted payment server. This is non-custodial: no third party holds the funds at any point.
• Other major coins (for example ETH, SOL, and major stablecoins) are paid directly to wallet addresses we control ourselves.
• Long-tail coins are handled by a third-party payment processor. If you choose one of these coins, that processor's own terms also apply to the payment step.

Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible. You are responsible for sending the exact amount shown, to the exact address shown, on the correct network, within the payment window. Network (miner/gas) fees are paid by you on top of the displayed amount. If you send the wrong amount, use the wrong network, or pay after the window closes, contact support right away — we will try to help, but we cannot guarantee recovery of funds sent incorrectly.

Your booking is confirmed only after your payment is confirmed. Until then it is a pending reservation. Once confirmed, you receive a booking reference and a private status link — treat the link like a password, since anyone with it can view your booking details.

Whether a booking can be changed, cancelled or refunded is governed by the fare or room rate you chose — many of the cheapest fares are non-refundable. The details are in our Refund policy.

For legal review: Decide and state how crypto refunds are valued: refund of the original coin amount, or the USD value at the time of refund. This materially changes who carries exchange-rate risk and must be settled before publishing.

• Provide accurate traveler details that exactly match the travel documents used for the trip.
• Check passport, visa and health requirements for your destination — these are on you.
• Arrive on time and follow the airline's and hotel's own rules.
• Use the site lawfully: no fraud, no automated scraping, no attempts to tamper with prices or payments.

Signing in on Bitfares is lightweight: we store the email address and display name you give us in a browser cookie so the site can greet you and pre-fill forms. There is no password. Booking does not require an account.

We are the intermediary, not the airline or the hotel. We are not liable for events under the travel provider's control — delays, cancellations, schedule changes, overbooking, or the quality of the flight or stay — though we will help you deal with the provider where we can. For matters that are our fault, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us for the affected booking. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

For legal review: Liability caps and consumer-rights carve-outs vary by jurisdiction (e.g. EU package travel rules, EU261 handling, US DOT rules). Counsel should tailor this section to the governing law chosen below.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply to bookings made after the change, never retroactively.
